Low Profile Dust Ruffle

Manowar: September 11, 2010

With my background in the metal world is becoming difficult to find dates worthwhile groups that has not seen, and fortunately this was one of them. It was quite a coincidence that shortly after starting to get interested seriously by this group coming was announced.

curro
A colleague told me he would also come to see them, but that did not mean to have company during the concert because he is one that stays out drinking until the group will start strong and enters the last minute. As you know I like to go early (although without the hype get to spend the night in the queue) to try to get good place and not lose detail.

Unfortunately I did not suddenly everything I wanted because I had to go to a friend's house to do some business that I thought I would take some time, but eventually extended the task and arrived just when they opened the doors (and because my friend drove me, that it would come even later). So when I got in the queue was already huge and when I finally went (they had already started playing the opening act) could only get in the middle of the track.

Maria Breon and Joe Stump

HolyHell are called and are a quintet consisting by a female vocalist, a keyboardist, a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer, and have always enjoyed the support of leading Manowar, Joey DiMaio. They make fun music and I quite liked the singer (although you can not compare with my favorite Doro, which I hope to see someday.) Unfortunately when stung keyboardist and drummer could not help remembering the amazing sprints of Children of Bodom (by the way to see if they come soon, now more than 5 years of his last concert here), which unfortunately these were not enough in level.

the end we got a pleasant surprise to play Holy Diver Dio tribute to the deceased.

And after saying goodbye (and the typical three-quarters of an hour of waiting) started the show we had all come to see. Unfortunately we were not going to see the training that has been stable over years as drummer Scott Columbus takes time out of the band because his son is sick. In place takes quite a while Donnie Hamzik, who starred in a story that you can read later.

And finally emerged, dressed in traditional costumes, armor. Joey with his fine bass neck, Karl Logan with his blond hair piece to the wind and Eric Adams with her bracelets giving the appearance of strength always.

Unfortunately Joey had sound problems throughout the concert

proved to be a piece of musicians who are perfectly matched and that there is a good vibe between them (Joey and Eric have 30 years together and have a lot of complicity but Karl and Donnie kept a little aside.) Although for me the most meritorious of all, have not changed one bit since they founded the group. His music, his lyrics and his image still maintain the spirit of, as I call it "time of Conan." Surely if when filmed had been known they would charge the soundtracks (which unfortunately did not go with Blind Guardian in The Lord of the Rings). And back to what he said, show that more than anyone believe in what they do and feel proud of it. Unfortunately it may be precisely what has hindered them the time to be a group of top world rank. They are so little standard boxes have always been so difficult to achieve is bringing out the vast majority of the public.

Eric's voice is awesome

As curiosities say that after the third song Eric had his moment of glory by giving several cries of metal that emuláramos (the last one I could record as you can see in my video for the song Die For Metal, initially), in the beginning of the song Sons of Odin, when Eric approached Joey, he played bass singer stronger and had a wave of panic (also recorded), at first the song House of Death is that they were wrong (I did not notice, really) and Joey requires the group to stop and explain it and start over (again, also recorded), the singer later said the low with his right hand and guitar with her left hand horizontally and Joey and Karl played instruments as a piano (not so virtuous as many videos that can be viewed on YouTube, it was rather anecdotal), and finally the bassist in his particular speech in English to understand (I have heard worse) was devoted primarily to extolling his followers, saying how important they are to them and the rest of the bands do not care because they have records Guinness band with powerful sound and live longer (5 hours and 10 minutes in Bulgaria in 2008, played over 40 songs.)

Karl proven to be a virtuoso

In short, everything a great show which as only negative I can only put it on the way out they did because, although fired as expected, during the time that sounded the theme that was chosen as outro room lights remained off stage and on, giving the impression that all would come to play more. And we were all disappointed when the finished the song the lights going all expectations out the window.

Finally I leave here the videos I recorded:
