Second time I went to see a group that knows how to show on stage, and of course I was not disappointed. To avoid breaking the tradition, here's the entry:
Again I was lucky not to go alone, my good friend Deivis, Plasencia by birth but resident in Valladolid did not miss the event. So the day in question to go to work I went to pick you up at the train station, ate, and went to the Palacio de los Deportes. We arrived half an hour after the opening of doors, but on arriving at the track could make us a good place because there are many people who stay out until the last moment because of the support band pass (we, but we wanted was to get good site).
Upon entering I noticed two things: the crane to the zip line was prepared by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons platform between spots just above the stage. But I found it odd that the crane for the zip line ended in the middle of the front tier ... Where is going to put Paul to sing after getting out of the zip line? I explained these details to my friend that I abroncó rightly so. Piece of spoilers that I was doing! Assuming my fault I promised not to say anything more than what was already expected a show for me.
I forgot to mention that when we were already playing the openers. They were a group (completely unknown to me) of punk rock called Imperial State Electric who met the mission to entertain the public until it was time to KISS.
finished on 20:15 and until 21:00 was not scheduled to begin the main course, to which my colleague asked me if I would come out a few seconds openers. I said no, that now it was expected and was stunned. "" Three quarters of an hour? "He asked. "Oh nice, what you've seen concerts inch. With Metallica and Iron Maiden I have to wait an hour or more!" I answered. And there we waited, until at 21:00 o'clock the lights (but we are not dark because of the glass doors behind the front tier went pretty light). In
first projected on two screens on the sides of the stage (which was already covered by the classic scenes with the band logo printed) a video of Google Earth which was sticking out of the zoom from Earth to the roof of the Palace of Sports, which began to untie the public euphoria that we were expectant. Then he saw the 4 components of the group as a giant walking among the skyscrapers of a city (this video had seen it before, but I failed to find it.) Finally we showed the group out of his dressing room and lost behind a door reading "STAGE KISS" pictures ever made enloqueciéramos a little more. I told my friend that this video was not real, that would put the same everywhere. And he said that surely, but if true would be the bomb.
And then came the real bomb. Paul's voice saying those words that serve as a prologue for each concert: "All right Madrid. You wanted the best, you got the best. The hottest band in the world. KISS!" And showing the curtain fell on Paul, Gene and Tommy Thayer emerging from behind the drums on a platform that put them on stage over the heads of Eric Singer, who was covered in smoke (the scenario, not the battery), which prevented me from seeing where they took the above platform. The truth is that the scenery was spectacular, much better than they had in Bilbao when I saw them in the Kobetasonik. The battery was (as always) high, but on the bright logo of the group. Behind it was a giant screen that was as wide as the whole stage and the sides were smaller screens. I recalled the scene which used Green Day when I saw them at the same venue last year.
Before breaking down everything you did, step by putting the setlist:
Modern Day Delilah
Cold Gin Let Me Go Rock and Roll
Fire House Say Yeah
Deuce
Crazy Crazy Nights
Calling Dr. Love Shock Me
(sung by Tommy Thayer)
'm an Animal Years
100.000
I Love It Loud Love Gun
Scrap
Whole Lotta Love (Led Zeppelin)
Black Diamond Detroit Rock City
Beth (sung by Eric Singer)
Top Forever
Lick It Up inserting a piece of Will not Get Fooled Again (The Who) in the middle
Shout It Out Loud
I Was Made For Lovin ' You
God Gave Rock and Roll To You (Argent)
Rock and Roll All Nite
As you can see not missed any great song. And of course everyone had their moment of glory with their particular show. The fire breathing antics, vomiting blood and fly Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley zip, rocket launchers guitar Tommy Thayer, Eric Flying Battery Singer ... Although there was a novelty: When Tommy finished launching their rockets Eric asked us to fix it and pulled out a bazooka, who shot the lights causing the downfall of some. A spectacular stage production.
And this time I could take away the thorn I Bilbao stayed because there was so far from the stage could not record anything, but this time, and here are the results (though unfortunately I did not realize the camera was set to record low quality videos):
As shown in the penultimate video, Paul Stanley will set up a circular platform between the stands and the track just before the song, and again cleared the stage as well it was resolved I expressed doubt at the beginning of the crane to the zip line.
Special mention must be made to Paul, who took full responsibility at the time of exercise of frontman and contact us several times in Castilian (or at least try). "Tonight is the night", "I do not speak English well, but I understand your feelings. My heart is yours" (the plural is not tightly controlled), "We count" (surely meant "sing") and also started to sing a couple of times: "A white dove ... cu-cu-cu-cu-RRU ... ay-ay-ay-ay-ay ..." and "Guajira Guantanamera Guantanamera ... ...". Obviously every word in our language caused madness among us.
All these details
know by heart not by my good memory, but because, like Metallica have been doing the last few years, KISS has also decided to sell audio gig (although a 15 €, while that Californians to 9, clear that the face-painted give fewer concerts.) That's the idea, the business is not to ban people put cameras and recorders to concerts, but to provide something better than what a viewer can get on their own.
But there was a small surprise to me after the concert. The next morning I got the videos I recorded on Youtube, and I should be first because ... One of them was published in the official website of the group, KISSONLINE ! Not only that, also under a message appeared encouraging to visit my channel because there were more videos of the concert. And what a success: about 7,000 visits that day, I became a YouTube user # 14 in the rankings. Since the page is updated every day with news I made a screenshot for posterity:
So, in short, enjoy a great show and also my YouTube channel was the best advertising possible. I love KISS!
